The Farming Together team

The Farming Together team is embedded within Southern Cross University at its Northern Rivers campus.

We are part of the Research and Education Impact portfolio, and include the Lismore Node of the Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales (SQNNSW) Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub. We work closely with farmers, SCU researchers, community organisations and industry to support existing projects and work, communicate research and knowledge, and connect people to each other.

The team excels in delivering innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by farmers and regional and rural communities.

Together, we form a multidisciplinary team capable of delivering comprehensive solutions for sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and community engagement.

Meet our team

Dr Amanda Scott
Knowledge Broker, SQNNSW Hub
Amanda is a researcher and partnerships practitioner at Southern Cross University specialising in collaboration, network resilience and research impact. She works at the intersection of research, industry, government and community, exploring how collaborative networks function and create impact over time. Using longitudinal social network analysis, Amanda helps make the invisible infrastructure of collaboration visible, providing evidence to strengthen network design, governance and performance. Her work supports more effective responses to complex challenges, including drought resilience, decarbonisation and food security.

Rebecca Lollback
Partnership Broker, Lismore Region, SQNNSW Hub
Rebecca is a research translator and storyteller who bridges the gap between academia and the real-world. In her current role, she supports soil, agronomy and plant science researchers in planning for impact, drawing on a background in journalism and communications. By developing meaningful impact strategies, Rebecca can help clearly articulate the value of research for farming communities and drive change for industry, government, and communities. Rebecca also works across all our programs and projects to share stories with communities, farmers, industry organisations, media and key stakeholders.
Gavin Tinning
