Project Description: The Western Lamb Producers' project developed and costed a low cost feed option for Organic Lambs. It identified a low cost feedout system that will allow batches of 2500 lambs to enter and be finished to normal weight (20-22 kg cwt), or, if the opportunity is cost effective, to be finished to higher weights over 25 kg cwt. It provided a buffer for the groups' producers in dry season and also an opportunity to value add. Up to three batches of lambs per year could be produced, depending on seasonal conditions.
