Project Description: The King Island Beef Producers group project established a team of ten businesses that engaged in benchmarking to share important financial and management information from their businesses. The data obtained from the group can be shared through Farming Together. A report with pooled data was created and shared with the wider community via the local paper, social media and at the King Island Beef day - biggest farming event of the year, benefiting other farmers in our region. The project offered ongoing opportunities for King Island farmers to understand, analyse and grow their business year after year, benefiting the local economy and the industry in general. Due to King Island's physical isolation and unique characteristics, this project is significant in understanding how can King Island farmers can improve production systems and how they compare to farming businesses in other regions.
