Project Description:

Farming Together funded Free Eyre to undertake economic modelling, commercial structure and market analysis. The original project was to explore the feasibility of a grain export and transhipping proposal at the north eastern end of the Eyre Peninsla - Lucky Bay. During the course of the proect, it became apparent that an alternative site (Sheep Hill / Port Spencer) and alternative technology to construct a physical deep sea port, was a superior option. Thus, Port Spencer was decided upon and further funding was secured for development.
